About VH-TBS
The journey of VH-RMS (later VH-TBS) is a captivating chronicle of an aircraft that had a long and varied life.
Ordered by Ansett Transport Industries, VH-RMS first flew on October 20, 1969, and entered service shortly after, operating both passenger and freight flights.
It gained fame during ABBA's 1977 Australian tour, showcasing its versatility.
After concluding its passenger service in January 1980, it transitioned to Air Nauru as C2-RN7, later serving Trans-Australia Airlines and ultimately being leased to Qantas under the VH-TBS registration.
Following various operational changes, it made its last flight in October 2003 and was subsequently stored, eventually becoming a training aid before being scrapped in late 2021.
VH-TBS's legacy reflects over five decades of aviation evolution and adaptability.
